Altered Tin and Blog CANDY!

Published by andeecate under Uncategorized

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh… Saturday. I love lazy Saturdays! I haven’t had one in almost 2 months! No joke! Today I got to play a little with a tin. I plan on using this for a gift card for my good friend who has a birthday in a couple of weeks. I used some awesome Bazzill paper that I have had for eons. I covered the tin with a red shade.

I stamped random shapes from a Autumn leaves set I had. I stamped the shapes in Versa Magic ink in Red Magic and Sea Breeze. I popped up some of the shapes with SU! dimensional. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the A Muse Birthday Builder set. The ribbon is SU! taffeta ribbon.

I felt that something was missing so I added some bling… isn’t that always answer??  This was a really simple project and fun to do!

Photobucket

Remember in the fall when I gave away that awesome A Muse blog candy?? Well, I still have one that went unclaimed! Can you believe that???

Photobucket

To win, just leave a comment, I will draw a winner on Thursday. Enjoy!

Happy Saturday,

Andrea

Penguin Paradise

Published by andeecate under Uncategorized

Is it Friday yet? It’s already been a long week and I am super tired! I have to be up at 5am tomorrow (insert grumble and eyeroll here). But I didn’t want to leave the reader I still have… which I appreciate you more than you know!

Here is one that I did b/f I went on “sebatical”…

This Elzybells image is too cute! I stamped him in Palette Noir and colored him with Prisma Color makers (I really need to get on that Copic bandwagon!)

Photobucket

I put Icicle Stickles on the flakes for a little extra sheen.  Mr. Penguin’s pom-pom on his hat is done with Liquid Applique and then heated with the heat gun. FYI- that is what makes it pop up, in case you didn’t know, but you probably did.

The sentiment is by A Muse and stamped in Palette Brown. I used A Muse’s 4 bar note cards for the base and the accent paper behind the scallop. That delicious ribbon is by Strano.

Remember, check out my For Sale page… there is a lot left. If there is something you really want, make me an offer, we’ll talk!

FOR SALE and an update

Published by andeecate under Uncategorized

Another year has come and gone… and the past few months I am sure like for the rest of you, has been exhausting! We went to Vegas, visited numerous family and friends, bought gifts for 18 kids, brothers, sisters and parents, had a FABULOUS Christmas and super relaxing New Year.

I am now fighting off my second bout with a bacterial infection (sort of like a viral infection, it just sounds super gross). I feel lousy and want to crawl into bed. I can’t though, I brought work home today because I missed 2 days of work and I still need to put Christmas stuff away. I am so behind on everything!

It will be nice to get back to normal and find my life again! Oh, and to begin creating. I need that more than you know! I didn’t do hardly any Christmas cards, and I didn’t even send out store bought ones… so if you are a friend of mine, don’t feel slighted, I still love you!

Here is a picture I did manage to take of Gracie in front of the tree though… isn’t she the best????

Photobucket

 ******

Please check out my “For Sale” tab at the top. I am unloading a lot of stuff and plan to add more. This is not a store, I just need to thin out my collection. I am running out of room!!!

I should be checking in more regularly now… Life is still good!

I bailed… again!

Published by andeecate under Uncategorized

Life is getting crazy around here. I have had so much going on that I haven’t had any time for things I want to do. My job has gotten really busy, I had my brother’s kids for 5 days last week, and this past weekend I packed up to go to Pittsburgh. It’s been a lot and I need a break! And work, well don’t get me started on that… our server died on Monday. It was bad- still is. We lost everything that we had done since November 5th. It was awful. So needless to say it’s been a bad week. And TGIF for me tomorrow!

Soooooo… our trip to Vegas in January got a curve ball thrown at it and we needed to reschedule it. BUT we are leaving at the end of this month. I am WAY excited. That is the light at the end of my tunnel right now.

Not a lot to report, but enough to bring you back in, right?

Here is a little Elzybells card I have from last week. So cute! I am still enjoying these images a lot and hope you all got your hands on some and are enjoying them too!

Happy Sunday friends! Today was semi-productive and I made several cards. Also, one of my closest friends had her baby today. I went and visited them. He is just beautiful and so chubby! They have asked me to be the babys God Mother and at first I felt aprehensive. But with a lot of thought and prayer, I decided to say yes. I think this is a good thing.

I got to work on several projects today with my Elzybells stamps and my A Muse clear stamps. I am really enjoying haveing some time for me to stamp.

102807-011.JPG

For this card, I enjoyed taking the Elzybells Igloo stamp and making it look icy and snowy. It’s a lot of fun!! The image was stamped on SU! Naturals cs and Pallet Noir. I colored the image in with Prisma Markers and added stickles to the tree for “ornaments”.  I also used Close to Cocoa and Cool Carribean to accent the layers.

I am starting to think that the Ice Skater might be my favorite Elzybells image. She is so cute and easy to work with! This card came together from a card I saw in a magazine. I can’t say I case’d it per se, but I liked the over all look of it, so I used it as a guideline for this card.

102807-012.JPG

The image was stamped in Pallette Noir, and colored in with Prisma Markers. I used the 4 bar note cards and a strip of Real Red. I faux stitched the strip. The ribbon is by A Muse.

I hope you all have a great week. I have a lot going on, so I look forward to being super busy!!!

Elzybells in my house

Published by andeecate under Uncategorized

I did it. I bought them. And I love them. Elzybells stamps are awesome! I purchased a few last week after their launch by A Muse. I must say, I wasn’t one bit disappointed. But I knew that if A Muse was distributing them, they’d be great!

One of my favorite purchases was the Reindeer Star. Isn’t it just the cutest?? If you haven’t already, go and check out the Elzybells Blog for lots of ideas and to shop!

This cards uses the A Muse 4-bar note cards in green, SU! Real Red and Natural Cardstock. The Elzybells image is stamped in Versamark in black and colored in with Prisma Markers. The sentiment, also by Elzybells, is stamped in SU! Real Red. The ribbon is by A Muse.

I hope you have a great weekend everyone. Please don’t forget to comment on the “Unclaimed Blog Candy” post to win some great A Muse stuff!!!

It’s raining and it’s Friday. It’s 10:52am and I just got up! I love that! I took off work today because I am leaving to go to Dewey Beach, DE for the weekend with 2 of my closest friends. I am really excited.

We plan to shop the 5 bazillion outlets, go to dinner and have lots of drinks!! The weather is supposed to be in the 70’s which is unusual this time of year, but I will take it! We are only staying until Sunday, but I am sure this will prove to be a fun and relaxing weekend!

I wanted to share another creation with you all before I left. I am really enjoying the new A Muse clear stamp mini sets. They are so great to work with (have I convinced you yet to get some??). This card was a snap to put together. The only thing is that it took up a ton of bling! So if you hoard stuff like me, I wouldn’t make too many of these cards, or compensate Stickles in place of the bling. Make sure someone super special get them! They are simple, but so pretty in person!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

For this card, I used the 4 bar Maderia Note cards in Red, the Holiday Greetings Clear Set and the Tall Skinny. The Tall Skinny is stamped on SU! Shimmery White and I colored the image in with Prisma Markers and then added the bling from various packets. I used some Bazzill paper to layer the image.  Tidings of Joy is stamped in Versafine black.

Have a fabulous weekend and take care :)

Blog Candy Winners and more A Muse fun!

Published by andeecate under Uncategorized

Wow! 65 of you want this candy! I did a random number generator and it gave me #’s 27 & 38. Congratulations Samantha and Jen D!! Email me at the link on the left to get me your snail mail address and I will get them out to you ASAP!

I don’t have much to report for today, but we had a great weekend. Full of lots of nothing… this weekend starts my “bombardment” of activities. Mr. LOL and I (mostly me though), don’t have a free weekend until the middle of January! Ick! I can’t get over how booked I am! It’s crazy!

I did a little stamping over the weekend and this is one of my creations. I used another A Muse 4 bar note card. I love these! They are fab and you should get your hands on the ASAP!! I am also in love with these new clear sets. IMO they are the best quality acrylic stamps I have worked with yet. Just beautiful impressions. I worked with Party Time on this card along with A Muse’s ”hey cupcake.”

I stamped the images in Versafine ink in black and colored this image in with Prisma markers on SU! Shimmery white paper. I added Stickles to the treats and cut them and mounted them on the 3-tier tray with foam tape. I also used Sakura gel pens for some more shimmer and “fine fill in”.

I hope you all had a great Monday… take it easy!

Christmas Cards?

Published by andeecate under Uncategorized

It’s October. Only October. But I am sure, like many other stampers, I am in holiday mode for card making. I am already starting to “test” ideas, experiment with color and decide on a design. I am even in the process of creating a digi-invite for an open house we are having in December.

The reason being for my early planning stems from the fact that I am only going to have one, yes, ONE, free weekend from now until January 11th! I am none too happy about it either. But this is life!

In my previous post, I mentioned that I have received an order from A Muse this week. I began messing around with my stuff and came up with a few designs. Part of my order was the new clear stamp mini sets. They are fabulous and produce a nice crisp image.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The new 4 bar note cards are great. The colors are just beautiful. For this design, I used the Maderia card collection in blue. I stamped the Holiday House on SU! Shimmer white and layered that on some Bazzill bling paper I had. The ribbon is the white taffeta from SU!. The sentiment is from the new clear set, Holiday Greetings. It is such a great set. I love all the phrases!! For the “snow” I used liquid applique and heated it up with the heat gun to make it puffy. I colored the image in with Prisma markers.

I hope your Saturday was as nice as the one here in Hershey- a cool, sunny 63 degrees. It was wonderful! Don’t forget to comment on the blog candy post for your chance to win! Comment now and comment often for your chance to win!

Life is good lives on! With some “A Muse-ing” Blog Candy!

Published by andeecate under Uncategorized

I know, I know… I neglected you all! I am back though. I needed a break. I felt for awhile that I was blogging b/c I had to, not because I wanted to. I am going to take a different approach this time around though. I am blogging for me (and you readers too, but I think you know what I mean). So, for those of you that do read my blog and hopefully enjoy it, Life is good lives on!

So I ordered some stuff from A Muse last week… FUN stuff! Because of my participation in A Muse-A-Palooza, I ended up getting a really sweet tee from them! It’s chocolate brown and has a sparkly A Muse logo! It is so cute! Thanks a million A Muse, you guys rock! Check me out:

It’s been awhile, huh?

Published by andeecate under Uncategorized

I am not even going to begin to explain all the stuff that is going on right now. But rest assure, I haven’t abandoned the blog. I have been working on an album for Gracie though. I haven’t scrapped in ages… I want to pursue it some again (as I said before!).

This is the opening page for Grace’s album.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

This is an 8×8 album. I used SU! paper, some spare sparkled chipboard I had, and a glitter alpha to highlight the “Who am I?” theme. I also used a digital frame on the pic b/f I printed it out.

 The journaling says:

I am a two face.

I like food.

I snort.

I eat.

I sleep.

I chew up Dingos.

I go to work.

I have a Beanie Baby fetish.

I am hungry.

I love Mama.

I love Dad.

I ride shot gun.

I am a Boston.

I ROCK.

I hope everyone is doing well and having a great last few weeks of summer. Before you know it fall will be here!

Break Time

Published by andeecate under Uncategorized

I have been taking a break. Lately, there has been some stuff going on (don’t worry though) and I needed to take a step back.  I also started to feel like blogging was a chore. It wasn’t fun anymore. I want it to be fun again. So, I am going to try to do that again- make it more enjoyable again.

I took a reprieve from any major stamping. I was and still sort of am burned out. I have been really looking at some amazing scrapbooking blogs these days. I started scrapping before stamping and really loved it. But the past few years, stamping consumed me. I want to start paying more attention to my scrapbooks. That is my goal, to do both. Why shouldn’t I?

One blog that really inspires me is Kristina Conte. She has an eclectic, amazing and quriky style. It really appeals to me. I think I was also drawn to her blog because we share many of the same interests and loves-first off, paper crafting, also I love much of the music she is into, we are both crazy about our dogs and she seems to have a fantastic relationship with her husband. I think she is inspiring. Check out her blog, it’s really good stuff.

I wish I could say I had a scrapbook page to share, but I do have a card to share tonight. I love the Pomegranate. Gorgeous, gorgeous stuff. However it photographs red. It’s not red. It’s the color of passion (imo). Therefore, the picture of this card look rather Christmas-y with the Wild Wasabi.

0151.jpg

The base is Wild Wasabi, accented with Purely Pomegranate and Shimmer White. I think that the flowers look a “pointseitta-ish”, but never the less, cute. I added a brad bling in green, and punched out the circles. I added some faux stitching last minute. I think it turend out cute.

I hope you are all having a great week and I hope to resume some more regular blogging!!

Birthday contemplations and Andee has candy to give!

Published by andeecate under Uncategorized

I was speaking with someone today, and we were talking about birthdays. He asked how old I was going to be this year and I said 27. We were joking about our 21st birthdays, and how we drank and partied and had a general all around kick butt time. I said I wouldn’t mind being 21 again. He said something that really made me think.

He said that 25 to 30 were his best years. He got married, had a baby, bought a house and “started his life”. The more I think about it, I feel the same. I got married when I was 23, but the first year was hard. Not hard as in I didn’t like being married, I loved it, but hard because we were living together finally and my life was rapidly changing. It was difficult to adjust to.
Pete and I have never gotten along better than we do right now. My marriage is beyond solid and I am smiles all the time with him. So, for this birthday, I am not going to be sad that I am getting closer to 30, I am going to embrace the fact that these have been some of the best years of my life. I have a ton to be thankful for, and if I had not been so lucky and blessed, maybe I wouldn’t even be here. I am truly the luckiest person in the world right now.

My SU! order came finally! It’s one of my gifts from Mr. LOL for my birthday next week. It’s nice that the SU! catty comes out in July. I always spend part of my birthday gift on it! I am lucky!

71307-scs-001.JPG

So, as you can see I did pretty well! Here is all the fun stuff I got:

  • Glorious Garlands
  • Jumbo Chatter Wheel
  • Block Party
  • Merry, Merry
  • All About Christmas Wheel
  • Moose You
  • Spotted Wheel
  • Garden Whimsy
  • Whimsy Wheel
  • Polka Dot BG
  • So Swirly Wheel
  • So Sweet
  • In Color Textured Card-stock and ribbon
  • Winter Green DS Paper
  • Cerise DS paper
  • Chocolate and White Taffeta ribbon
  • Sherbet Ribbon
  • 9×9 Clipboard

—-

One Set I got was Garden Whimsy. I love it. It is so easy to work with and looks great when stamped. It inked up really nice to for being more of a solid image. That surprised me. I did get to make one card tonight with it.

71307-scs-003.JPG

This card started with a Bayou Blue base. I wasn’t sure I would like the Bayou Blue, but it really is beautiful IRL.  I also used Purely Pomegranate and Groovy Guava. I distressed the edges of each layer. I used the Whimsy Wheel stamped in Soft Sky. The butterflies are in Pomegranate and Groovy Guava. I also added Diamond Stickles to the wings. The stitched ribbon is in Groovy Guava.

I hope to start my Chirstmas Cards this weekend. I am so excited to use my new SU! sets! I am almost all mounted!
